Tyree Guyton, DFA is the founder and artist of the critically acclaimed Heidelberg Project (HP) in Detroit. Founded in 1986, the HP is an internationally recognized public art installation created to challenge the status quo, create a community for art, and cultivate a unique gathering space for all who seek inspiration outside museum walls. Guyton will take you on an in-depth journey into history of the HP and how it has become the corner-stone of Detroit’s burgeoning art community. He will presents information useful to artists, students, arts organizations, community organizers, teachers, and philanthropists seeking to understand how art and creativity become a catalyst for urban revitalization.
